If you have a close family where you watch your nieces and nephews or your grandchildren, you may also benefit from a double stroller. Even childcare providers will find plenty of use for a double stroller. Really the answer to “Who should buy a double stroller?” is: “Anyone who cares for 2 or more small children.” A double stroller should have a few important features.
Compatibility with your baby’s infant seat. If your baby is under a year old and you use an infant car seat, it’s easiest if it is compatible with the jogging stroller that you choose. If it isn’t, it might be possible to get an adapter. Read the manufacturer’s instructions to find out whether this is safe for the car seat you have and the stroller that you choose.
Travel systems. If you’re getting a double stroller for twins, this may be even more necessary, but even if you’re just having your second child, you may still want to find a double stroller that will allow you to easily place your infant car seat securely within it so that you won’t need to take baby out of her supportive travel method. The best bet to make sure that your car seat fits your stroller is to stick to the same brand for both. If you have a Britax car seat, a Britax stroller will most likely fit the car seat. Be careful with how this limits you, of course, but as with a lot of baby products; sticking to the same brand can often make things simpler.
Brakes. Brakes help you secure the stroller so that it won’t roll away. If it gets away from you, your baby could get hurt. Brakes make it easy to ensure that the stroller stays in one spot. 5-point harness. A harness with five connection points provides a lot of security. The five points address forces from each of those directions, effectively creating a net to keep your baby in place.
